A person working in a coffee shop

When I worked for a company, a 1:2:1 was a meeting which staff both feared and looked forward to.

It was an opportunity to talk about the good and bad in your job.  To ask for help, to give ideas.  But the fear was in the power balance.

The person who you were having your 1:2:1 with, was always senior.  They had the upper hand and there was a feeling that they may use any information against you or somehow this was a trick, even though that wasn’t necessarily true.

As a business owner, network groups and sales experts encourage you to have 1:2:1’s with other business owners.  The principles are the same, but the balance is much more comfortable.

So, what’s in it for you?

·         An opportunity to talk to other business owners, remember they are in the same boat as you. They will understand your fears and hopes.

·         An opportunity to get tips and advice from them, remember…….!  Their experience can save you time and money. You can never know too much!

·         An opportunity to help them, to show your knowledge in your field.

·         An opportunity to show them the sorts of things you can do for businesses so that they remember you and recommend you when opportunities come up.

To sell your services you need to find the people who need the help you can provide, and let them know how you can help them.

In addition to this, you need to run your business and do all the things that businesses have to do, like answer emails, accounts, marketing.  These may be things you have never done before, so any advice from those with experience is invaluable.

1:2:1’s help really well with advice and support for all of this.

So ask someone for a 1:2:1 TODAY and get going!
